Read the fine print on any package of birth control, and you will find out that it’s not 100% effective. Canyon’s mother thought she was doing everything she needed to do to avoid ‘mistakes.’ It wasn’t enough. Fortunately, she was married and she and her husband had planned on having children at some point. They were still enjoying some wild times before they settled down. JD Manning was one of those wild times. Actually, they shared quite a few wild times with him. When Ms Brightman got pregnant and the test showed that JD, not her husband, was the father, it was a wake-up call for all concerned. JD was sent packing as they settled down to be responsible parents. Canyon was fortunate to grow up in a solid happy family. It was only when some medical risks arose that it became necessary to tell him that his dad was not actually his father. Of course, he set out to find him, but far more exciting was finding out that he had a half brother, as well.
